After growing up in Macau, Afonso returns to Lisbon just as Portugal enters a period of dramatic change with the Carnation Revolution on April 25, 1974. As society transforms around him, he faces the turbulence of adolescence while beginning his own journey of self discovery, embracing his identity and sexuality.
