The Letter Men is a moving historical gay short film based on the real correspondence between two men separated by military service during the Second World War. Andy Vallentine gives the letters emotional immediacy, allowing affection, longing and secrecy to become part of a wider history rarely preserved on screen. Its intimacy makes the past feel unexpectedly close.
