I was looking forward to watching ‘Pillion’ for months, but the result was quite disturbing. It has solid performances and well made, but the narrative, at least to me, is about an abusive relationship. Maybe I don’t understand submissive culture at all, but it just felt emotionally cruel. The ending is wrapped up fairly well, and left feeling more pity towards the protagonist (Colin), played by Harry Melling. It definitely got that Stockholm syndrome vibe going on.
