A patrol of scouts arrives at a remote village to perform the Crucifixion of Christ. Seventeen-year-old Karim, who has been given the role of Christ, is determined to find the ecstasy within himself to ensure that his performance of the martyr on the cross will be authentic. Fellow scout Pierre-Marie offers him a helping hand.
