In 1929 Austria, young novice Paulinus prepares to take his final vows at a secluded monastery. His only glimpse of the outside world comes through Jakob, a local farmer who visits daily. As their bond deepens, Paulinus faces a painful choice between devotion and desire, faith and freedom, and the uncertain place he truly calls home.
