Victor’s Body
Alternative title: O que pode um corpo?

Directed by Marcio Picoli & Victor Di Marco

A baby is born, but does not cry. A body screams and is not heard. Paints that run in a promised future do not reach a person with a disability. Victor makes himself the canvas in a universe of absent painters.
Victor's Body refuses the usual distance between filmmaker and subject because Victor Di Marco is both. The documentary short film uses his disabled body as canvas, performance space and argument, layering testimony with projected imagery until autobiography becomes something physical. The experimentation could have overwhelmed the personal story, but Victor’s own presence keeps pulling it back to a simple question: who gets to decide which bodies belong in art?
