Le sexe des anges is an experimental gay film more interested in bodies, desire and political expression than conventional storytelling. Lionel Soukaz’s confrontational style will inevitably divide viewers, but the film’s refusal to soften its sexuality or fit gay experience into respectable narrative conventions gives it the uncompromising energy of truly underground work.
