I didn’t really know anything about this film before giving it a watch. From the first few minutes, I thought we were watch a story about a lonely gay man (Andrew Scott) in London, but I soon got swamped into a story of grief and connection that I didn’t expect. Despite it’s “ghost-story” theme (inspired by the novel ‘Strangers’ by Taichi Yamada – which I read in school) the movie goes above and beyond to really capture the raw humanity of it all. The ending caught me off guard like a tonne of bricks,. This is certainly not a happy gay film, you will cry, you will feel things you swept away for years. It has to be one of the greatest gay films ever made. Watch!
