The Memory of You is an elegant Swedish gay short film about a married man unexpectedly encountering the male lover he left behind. Nils Janlert shoots the story in one continuous take, giving the reunion a fragile immediacy as memory and present-day obligation collide. The technical control never overwhelms the emotion, and the unresolved longing gives the film a particularly bittersweet pull.
